On Saturday, June 20 over 40 people gathered to celebrate the re-dedication of Sheehy Park. Commissioner (Boston Parks and Recreation) Antonia Pollak gave a welcome from the city of Boston. Councilor Mike Ross read the proclamation that was given in April 1972 dedicating the park. Councilor Steve Murphy and Representative Jeff Sanchez also welcomed the group of mostly residents of Mission Hill (seniors and youth) and board members of Mission Hill Main Streets. Musical entertainment was provided by Sociedad Latina’s music ensemble. A special thank you to Barry Twomey, staff at MHMS and resident; Joel Samuels, board member MHMS and resident; Maegan Goodie, staff at MHMS and volunteers Seth Burns, promotion committee member and resident for the work that they did putting the event together.
Stop bar the park to see the ornate plaque that was placed outside of the park.
