The annual MHMS Meeting took place at the Mission Main Community Room which ended up being packed with a full house! The guests enjoyed a taste of Mission Hill, sampling different food from many restaurants of the neighborhood.
The keynote speaker for the event was Regina Durga LEED, AP. Ms. Durga spoke about green business initiatives and how we can become a more more energy efficient and eco sustainable community. Ms.Durga said that in this state 84% of households recycle and that paper products are responsible for filling up most of our landfills. She also said that people can do little things like bringing their own bags to the grocery store and unpluging chargers and adaptors from the wall when not in use so that they don't continue to draw small or "vampire" doses of electricity. As well as this interesting information elections for new board memebers were also held.
Three new members were elected to the board as residents. David Walsh a retired business owner from 1575 Tremont St., Jennifer Fruscillo a recent Wentworth Institute of Technology graduate and resident, and Toni Komst a former resident who has returned to the neighborhood. Sean Bender of Wentworth Institute of Technology, John Mcgonagle of Brigham and Women's Hospital and resident Joel Samuels were re-elected to the board. Thanks to the MHMS board of directors, staff and those who attended the annual meeting.
