Making Your Neighborhood Work

Boston Main Streets appears on BNN - Boston Neighborhood Network - on channel 9, every Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. MHMS appears approximately 6 times throughout the year. Keep a watch for Christine.

Dinner on Main Streets

Each year Mission Hill Main Streets host a fundraiser for the organization at Mississippi's Restaurant at 103 Terrace Street in Mission Hill. We garner support for the event through local institutions, organizations and residents of the neigborhood.
Enjoy tasty delights by Blue Water Catering, a sister company of Mississippi's, and a silent auction featuring art work by local artists, gift certificates to restaurants and salons throughout the City and so much more.
Dinner on Main Streets, 2007, is in the planning process. If you would like to help MHMS organize the event or you would like to donate something to the silent auction please email Christine .

Countdown to Kindergarten

Children registered to start kindergarten in the Boston Public Schools gather in Mission Hill every year in the beginning days of September to start their school year off with fun. We meet in Brigham Circle for cookies and juice, then travel throughout the business district, stopping at participating businesses where the children receive gifts that help them prepare for their first year of school. Free and open to children registered for kindergarten in the Boston Public School system. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Every Thursday from July through October buy fresh vegetables from two local farms- Drumlin Farms from Lincoln, using no chemical pesticides or fertilizers, and MacArthur Farm from Holliston, the 2004 winner of the Massachusetts Tomato Contest- in Brigham Circle next to the Sovereign Bank. Hours of the market are 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.
